Supreme Grand Master Hwang Kee

As the visionary founder of Moo Duk Kwan, from which modern Tang Soo Do proudly traces its lineage, Grand Master Hwang Kee dedicated his life to spreading martial arts wisdom. He passionately instilled the philosophy that true perfection is an unending pursuit, inspiring our midnight blue belts to symbolize the infinite quest for knowledge and self-mastery.

Grand Master Jae Joon Kim

Grand Master Jae Joon Kim, one of Grand Master Hwang Kee’s most accomplished students, became instrumental in bringing Tang Soo Do to the United States. His unwavering dedication and skill established the art’s foundation in the West, directly shaping the careers of legendary figures in both martial arts and entertainment.

Grand Master Kang Uk Lee, one of Supreme Grand Master Hwang Kee’s most senior students, profoundly influenced the global reach of Tang Soo Do. He is credited with introducing the art to both the United Kingdom and Southeast Asia, founding the UK Tang Soo (Soo Bahk) Do Federation. His enduring inspiration and guidance were pivotal in the art’s increasing popularity and development across Europe.
